Palace

Hey!

We started our day off with a couple bananas and some tea, and then started our day. We began by making our way to the palace, where we would supposedly be seeing a light show and taking a boat ride. We bought the ticket and headed up the steep concrete road lines with flowers to the palace.

We started off by first taking a boat ride to an island on the water. Which wasn’t actually all that cool. The views from the windows there were very pretty, but very fancy, there was a restaurant, but obviously way out of the huth price range. So we walked around and the took the boat back the shore to get some lunch that wasn’t a million dollars.

We found a nice place, that had Wi-Fi for my mom to download something. It was really hot out but I still decided to order a hot chocolate at this restaurant, and let me tell you it was very good! Totally worth the hot sweats the followed.

After this we went back to the palace to purchase light show tickets and then to see the museum. However, upon arriving to the ticket booth we found out that there is in fact no light show tonight because...well...no one really told us why not, they just said “no! No show tonight!” And we were like “uh...ok...”

So we went to the palace museum, which was less of a museum and more of just a palace tour. It was beautiful (pictures below). The views from the room with little windows were incredible, the people who lived in these literally lived like kings. We saw only a section of the huge palace, but I can only imagine how big this place is, with all the corridors and rooms within. I’m sure it would be really fun to explore.

Following the palace we went shopping! However, there really isn’t that much to shop for in India we have found. There are clothes and trinkets, but ever shop mostly contains the same as the shop before. However both Riley and I bought a little something from a trinket shop in one of the alleys, but nothing much. We have spent most of our money on chocolate we find in little grocery stores (tiny I mean very small, more like walk up and everything is behind a counter ordeal).

And soon enough it was time for dinner, we went to a rooftop restaurant supposedly overlooking the water to see the sunset, but we couldn’t see anything. It was ok though, the food was decent, and the service was good, so not much to complain about. We walked back to our hotel and hung out for the rest of the night, and gathering our things to fly down south in the morning.
