And they call this camping??
Hello Everyone!
Today I skipped breakfast, I just wasn’t really hungry. So I packed everything up of mine so that I was ready to leave after their breakfast. So after their breakfast we said goodbye to the kid that ran the hotel and headed down the hill to go find our driver. And to drive for like 5 hours to a desert. Which ended up not really being a desert, but that’s a story for later.
We drove for a long time before we stopped to get lunch. I just got rice though because i wasn’t feeling to great. A couple more hours passes and reached our destination, we checked in and soon were headed to the camp. It took about 10 min to get from the place we checked in, to the camp in the desert.
Once arriving we were welcomed by a man who placed red dots on our foreheads, and another man who handed us sugared lemon water. All while some other men took our luggage to a tent a little ways away. We headed then to the tent which was raised off the ground and had three steps to the entrance. There was a little patio on in front with four chairs and a coffee table. Once entering the tent, there were three beds, two single and one queen. There were lights and outlets a table with two chairs and a desk. There was another portioned off section of the tent that had a zippered entranced, this little section held a toilet a shower and a vanity all that worked very well. And this my friend is what you would call glamorous camping.
After settling in we went for a camel ride, which was fun. We saw a cultural show while enjoying some almonds and fried appetizers, we were treated like queens. It was very fun. The cultural show was a lot of singing and dancing and was very interesting to listen and watch. After this they showed us into a bigger tent where we enjoyed a plethora of different foods. We strayed off with a soup and then had rice like 5 traditional Indian dishes, bread, and drinks. We ended dinner with fruit pudding and anise seeds (which are supposed to make your breath smell better after you eat).
After dinner we went back to our rooms and tried to keep as much sand out of our tent as possible and then headed to bed.
