Hi
Sorry guys I haven't been writing much, I am having a great time here! Today we had most of the morning to sleep in, until breakfast time of course. We (Riley and I) slept till about 8:30, we then got up to go to breakfast, it was wonderful. But since breakfast starts at 6:00 and ends at 9:00, there was not a lot of food left. But it was extreamly fantastic. We headed out to find a massage, it was kind of a gift from our parents from hiking up Machu Picchu. We payed 6.50$ for one hour, this was a great use of an hour. After this lovely massage we went to do some shopping and to book a tour for horseback riding tomorrow.
Shopping was great here it was like in China were you could bargain for the price you want, I started off by looking at a wallet that I have had my eye on since Puno, the beginning of our trip. I have been asking around on prices and seeing what the lowest price I can get. In Puno the cost of that wallet was 35 soles or about $11.75, the price in Aguas Calientes was 25 soles. The price in the market we visited today was 20 soles, but I was able to get one person down to 15 soles. So all in all the wallet cost $5. I also bought some presents for friends, vanilla wafers, and an ice cream cone.
Finally, after a while shopping, we headed to lunch, we saw this nice café on the corner and decided to go there. But somehow ended up going into a Chinese restaurant. After we had ordered, the waitress and the chef went over to another table across the room and were trying to figure out what we ordered, because we had an American menu and they are Peruvian. The food came and it was exactly NOT what we ordered, I got something that was like beef but covered in like a past, and fried. Riley got the same, and mom asked for chicken and received fried chicken. Dad was the only one who got something that looked like actual Chinese food. While we were eating the food that we were sure would make us sick, a piece of wood that was holding the window (a cloth) closed fell right by Riley, and if she had been sitting a little closer, she would have been smacked in the head, and I am talking like one foot maybe less.
Well that's all for today, we are in Starbucks right now trying to get better wifi, miss you!
