Who is in the tomb?
Day 8:
It is now day 8 since I didn’t do any blogging yesterday. Yesterday we just stayed at the house and did some swimming and relaxed in the sun, so not much to catch you up on!
Pre Update: Last night there was a terror in everyone’s eyes as we realized we had not received any pictures of our dog (who is being watched by nana and boppa). On our vacations previously we have always received these pictures. So we resulted that since there were no pictures that there was no dog. And that indeed our puppy was dead. However, after confirmation and a picture from our grandma we were reassured that our puppy still lives.
Update #1: We started our day at 8:30am by taking the water taxi across the water to get our car on the other side. Upon arrival we drove from there to some tombs carved into the side of the mountain. When asking my mom about who was held in the tombs she was unable to answer. So really we are not sure which dead people are burried here. Needless to say they were still cool!
Update #2: After the tombs we headed to Blue Lagoon beach! It was beautiful. After a while Riley decided she wanted some goggles. Most of the time mom brings some however this trip she did not. So she went in search of some instead. She came back with a pair of snorkeling goggles in hand and Riley had a throwback moment to her early childhood.
Update #3: The water was a bit cold at the beginning which wasn’t an issue until the clouds rolled in and then it was just all around cold. Now mom and riley are laying on the rocks getting the heat from them to warm themselves.
Update #4: We finally left after I was basically freezing to death! We went to a little restaurant on the main road and get some food. The waiter was very friendly (mainly to me) but the food was very good! They also tried on Riley and I’s sunglasses as they thought it was comical the colors we had.
Update #5: We should have crashed. Or dented, or scraped or bumped something. But some how we magically made it out of the chaos of Fethiye. The was a road closer directly in the path of where we wanted to go. I was in the front seat giving my dad directions while praying that we would make it through the tight little alleys and the chaotic streets. Ultimately we determined that where we were trying to go was not worth the stress and hassle that we were all being put through. So we turned around and headed home.
Update #6: On the way back to our island we shopped around at a few different shops before making our way back we also hit the local grocery store. Where we found many treasures such as chocolate. Lots of chocolate. I think ultimately we walked out of the store with 4 bars of it. A lenient amount if you ask me.
Update #7: Now we are back at the house getting some showers in as well as making dinner and enjoying our last night on the island before our next couple nights living in a cave.
Enjoy some pictures of the sunset from last night!
