Driving driving driving

Hi everyone!  Today’s post isn’t going to be extremely exciting, due to the fact that we drove for 6 hours straight. Luckily looking out the window is a very amusing thing to do in this country, because there is so much to look at. But still 6 hours is a long time, so I blogged and slept, and looked out the window.  I didn’t feel too well this morning when i woke up. I woke up with a raging headache, and I was really sore all over, my stomach hurt a little and I was feeling just weak. So I ate some breakfast and we headed out. Luckily for me I picked the day where we weren’t doing much to get sick. But after I ate a little i felt a little better. The car ride seemed somewhat okay on my stomach too, so I’m thinking I just have a really bad cold, because my throat started to hurt and nose started to run, so that’s lots of fun!  Besides that we went to the hotel walked around the busy streets, and then headed in for dinner and sleep. Fingers crossed I don’t get any

Jaipur

Hello!  Sorry for the lack of posting, the last hotel had terrible Wi-Fi so I couldn’t really post. Anyways, day 4 our our trip began with breakfast and then off to see the Amber fort.  Upon arriving at the fort (with a lot less traffic then the day before) we saw elephants and still lots of people walking up the stairs in order to get to the fort, considering the time of day. The fort was beautiful and HUGE, we walked around for about two hours and were sure that we still didn’t see everything. There were so many little corridors, hallways, and staircases, it was like a giant maze. Also we found that this fort was made for smaller people, because there were a lot of overhangs that came pretty close to your head. Update on boyfriend number, Riley has 13 and I have 18, as of the end of today.  After the fort, we went to a bizarre (or a market), this market was pretty interesting, due to the abstract colors lining the shop windows and the unique patterns that the dr

Day with a guide

hey hey hey!  Today we started our day by having a nice breakfast of eggs and toast. no one wanted to eat their toast (my dad and mom). so i had a total of about 7 pieces of toast. which were very delicious (4 had nutella!).  Anyways after breakfast we met with our driver (Himroj) and our new tour guide (Vicral). from there we went out and started our day beginning at the observatory.  Funny story, once we reached the place to see the observatory we got out of the car and there was a snake charmer right there. now, i don’t really like snakes (like AT ALL), so seeing this kinda freaked me out! my dad mom and sister all held it, i decided against it. After that traumatic experience we then headed for observatory, where we saw how people used to study the stars and the way the light worked to tell time. it was very educational. i would try to explain what our guide said, but i don’t believe that i would do it justice, for i don’t remember like half of it... We then s

Taj Mahal

Hey! We are now on day 3, and it’s crazy how much we have done in these last couple days! We woke up this morning and had a breakfast of eggs and toast, and then began our day. We first went to the Taj Mahal.  The Taj Mahal was built by a king of India for his queen, who died giving birth to his child. Her only requests while dying was that the king never remarry, and that she will have a building built for her, as her tomb. The king build the Taj Mahal perfectly symmetrical, the only thing that is not symmetrical are the tomb stones for the king and queen. The Taj is absolutely a magnificent white wonder.  After the Taj we went to the Aggra fort. Which was basically a big red stone fort. Honestly, I can’t remember exactly what the fort was for, but I think it was for defense purposes. It was beautiful nonetheless!  Then we got into a car for about 5 hours on our way to Jaipur. We luckily stopped at a very nice restaurant for lunch. Due to the fact that our car dr

Morning in Delhi

Image
Hello hello,  We arrived in Delhi last night around 11. And by the time we went through customs, got our bags, and went to the ATM it was around 1:45. Our driver picked us up and we headed to our hotel. And that’s when we realized how crazy the driving was.  The roads do have lines, but no one uses them, people just drift back and forth throughout the lanes. If someone is going to slow in front of you, they will just lay on their horn. And the roads are a mess. Sometimes you would be going like 90 down this straightaway, and then there would just be a pile of containers at the end forcing you to turn either right or left. This also poses a problem for walkers in the street, as no one really cares if they hit you. It’s kind of your problem to get out of their way, not theirs. They also will squeeze through the tiniest gaps between two cars if that’s what it takes to go any bit faster then anyone else.  Our hotel was not terrible, based on the other ones we have stayed at.

Denver to Delhi

Hello everyone!  Day one of our vacation has officially begun. And so far we are off to a good start. We started our day bright and early to catch a 7 am flight to Minneapolis. Unfortunately, we experienced a 2 hour delay in Denver because of a broken wire in a speaker. Thankfully though, we had a 6 hour layover in Minneapolis, so we weren't worried about a connecting flight. Once we reached Minneapolis we took a train to see the Mall of America, since we were in Minneapolis anyways. The mall was actually a lot bigger then I expected it to be! They even had a roller coaster park inside the mall. Even with multiple hours within the mall, it was still difficult to to even walk through half of it! It was huge!!  After this we went back to the airport and got on a plane for Paris. This flight was 7 hours and 30 min. But with the unlimited entertainment selection, it felt like less. We then arrived in Paris and quickly made our way to board yet another plane. To our final
