Floating markets

Today we had another tour we woke up at 4:50 to go to the floating markets. What are the floating markets???? Well, you go and they sell you things from their boat. For example, I had phò, cake, and orange juice, for breakfast. And you buy that all from the boats, that float past you. Then, after we saw the first floating market we headed to Co Dai which is a temple for Buddhists, and two other religions that I'm not remembering right now. So after we saw the Co Dai temple, we were off to another floating market, which wasn't as impressive as the first one (because there were more tourists than sellers) but still quite neat. Then we took a short stop for some drinks and to give the driver a break. After we were finished we were off again, back to the hotel,to quickly eat lunch and hop on a bus to start our trip back to Saigon, where we take a plane out of tomorrow night. Now I'm ready to leave but ready to see my dog, and sleep in my own bed. Till tomorrow............... Se

Vin Long

Today, we got up early, and had a breakfast of bread and jam, an omelet, and fruit. Then after breakfast, we went to a bus ticket station, by taxi, then from the bus ticket station, we went by bus, to the bus we were going to take to Vin Long (Wow!!). When we reached Vin Long, we were met by our kind tour guide (Nnung), and back into a a car for a not so long drive. After our short drive we reached a ferry that took us across the river and to the final destination: Nam Thanh Homestay. Once we got inside, we were awed at the sight of the place we were staying that night (in a good way). The room was made of bamboo, and had many holes (which was the only bad thing) there are many beds in the room, (which were all empty). There were hammocks everywhere outside, and a nice bridge to cross over the pond. Then once we were settled, in we set out on a bike ride, to a craft store that made things, for example I got a homemade journal and they actually made the cover and sewed it together with

SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the best day ever why??? Well because we woke up and went to breakfast. For breakfast I had an omelet with egg and sausage, bananas, bread, jam and butter, pineapple nod watermelon. Besides that, we went shopping all day long. What did I get??? Well I got some shoes, candy, and a sweatshirt so not a lot but there really wasn't anything good. Then we had a short break for lunch (sorry forgot what we had for lunch) and resting, before heading out for more shopping. Then dinner, for dinner we had noodle bowls then we were off to bed, and in the morning on a two hour bus too Vin Long. That's about it. Sorry this was a really short post. Sincerely, Tara

Today we went to a green tea farm, where we saw all the green tea leaves. Then we went to a silk factory, that was cool, but I don't really know how to explain the process. Then we saw how they make bungies that was cool (I'll have some pictures below and maybe a video if I can get it to work). Next we went to see a Dr. Seuss house, so cool (I'll put some pictures below). That was our fun and exciting day, now we are off to Saigon (also known as Ho Chi Min City). Goodbye, Tara   Silk factory Bungie's Dr. Seuss house Funny pictures

Elephants

Image
Today was amazing, we got up early again, but today I think it was worth it why??? Because we road elephants, my Mom and I were on an elephant, and my Dad and Riley were on a elephant. Our elephant (my Mom and I's) was being difficult and not going into the water at all. We also saw silk worms, and cocoons, and how they made the silk. We finally got into our room, we were staying in a home stay. The room is amazing and they food perfect. For dinner we had green beans, bread, rice, grilled pork, veggies, and garlic, we also had fish, and rice noodles. Now we are off to bed, Goodnight. Sincerely, Tara Elephants

Tour

Today was a long day, we left our hotel early this morning and got picked up by a tour guide. We went to a fishing village, where we saw lots of fish, crab, shrimp, clam, etc. Next we went to see how they make basket boats, they first make the base then fill in the cracks with cow poop :) then layer it with a glossy finish. Then we drove on and soon stopped on the side of the road to look at coco beans they, were weird. Then we walked down the street a little and saw coffee beans, they didn't smell like coffee yet, but they looked like it. Then we kept driving till we reached our next destination, the pepper farm. Now this was very interesting, the pepper is actually a bean that looks like the end of a bean sprout, and you take this bean and rub it in you fingers and you can smell the pepper. Also while we were at the pepper farm, the family that owned it, grew caterpillars why???? Well, when they are in the cocoons, they (the family) take them off the leaf they were grown on and

Monkey island

Image
Today we went to a place called monkey island WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! Why?? Well, let me just tell you........it all started when we went to this monkey island, and saw these cute little monkeys so cute and soft and little, and we feed them, they where so sweet, at least that's what you think until you bend down to feed them and they quickly reach out and try to grab your glasses. Luckily, they didn't grab my glasses, unluckily, I got three big gashes in my face, ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but that adds to all my many problems. After Monkey island we went to the beach and spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing there. Sincerely, Tara Some pictures before it all went down..... The action photo of the monkey that ruined it all.... The scars A monkey drinking Riley's empty 7up can. We met some friends along the way here are some pictures. She was terrified even thought it doesn't look like it.

Beach

Today was a beach day!!!!! So so so so so fun!!!! But before we went to the beach we went on a bike ride. The beach was amazing, today I did not get bit by a crab. We were at the beach all day long, (except for a quick Break before lunch). Also Riley and I built a sand castle (which soon got destroyed by the waves), and when ever Riley saw a crab you would hear AHHHHHH!!!!!! Coming from her mouth. Now we are back at the hotel/house till dinner, and praying that it won't rain. Till tomorrow, Tara

I don't really know what to call this??

Today we didn't really do anything, we went to see a Japanese Covered Bridge (not very impressive). But we also went to a new hotel, but it's more like a house, because there is no one else here (I'll put some pictures below). We got our clothes back from AoBaBa (if you remember from yesterday's and the day before posts: they can make any clothes for a price of course. They make it different colors and sizes. They where lovely clothes, with amazing colors and cool designs. They where amazing). Anyways, we are staying on the beach it's so cool, and we made a big pit and Riley and I got in and Mom and Dad buried us. Suddenly, I felt as if something bit me, I quickly jumped out (with lots of struggling) and ran into the ocean. That's one experience that I don't want to experience again. Now got to go (gtg). Sincerely, Tara Japanese covered bridge  The beach house

My Son

Image
Today was super duper duper hot, it was like fire out there. We went to the My Son today, what is the My Son??? Well, like Riley said it was a pile of bricks, but actually it was a pile of ruins from some people that lived long ago, but really there is nothing really left of it. After that we where off to lunch, for lunch I had rice, yes just steamed rice (it was twenty five cents). Then we walked around, and went to have our clothes fitted (if you remember from yesterday's post: we went to a shop called AoBaBa, weird name, but they are tailors so they can make any clothes for a price of course. They make it different colors and sizes, so we are having many things made and we will get it tomorrow at 3:00). They where lovely clothes, with amazing colors and cool designs. Then we went on a boat ride, fun but not my fav. Then dinner, for dinner I had pasta, and we sat next to these Swedish people they where funny. That's all for now.
